Fly London, our favorite English import, and the ever-comfortable Miz Mooz, have been Hip & Humble staples for years. But today on the blog, we’d like to introduce you to two relatively recent newcomers: OTBT (Off The Beaten Track) and the outdoor-friendly Sorel. Their introduction is a fitting one, even worthy of celebration we’d say (free shoes + mimosas, anyone? Scroll to the bottom of the post!), because the upcoming season denotes both travel and outdoor adventures. OTBT is the ultimate travel shoe, and if you already trust Sorel for your winter boots then you’d better believe their summertime sandals are just as reliable—not to mention stylish.
Fly London and Miz Mooz made their way to our shelves based on their aesthetic: European street style (the former) and whimsical retro designs (the latter), yes, but comfort was just as big a factor in our curatorial decisions. In fact, this blogger remembers her first H&H shopgirl days, when these brands’ epithets regularly included the “nine-to-five” heel and “walking on marshmallows” wedge. (Shop some of our Fly London and Miz Mooz spring arrivals here, here or here.) The same is true of Sorel and OTBT. Cushioned soles, cork footbeds, and livable (bikable! Runnable!) heel heights abound; and we’ve chosen three of our favorites to showcase on H&H girls below:
Sorel
If you love the look of strappy sandals but hate to fiddle with pesky buckles, then the Ella is for you!
No-fuss outdoor lovers should wear Ella with paint-splattered, frayed, or otherwise well-loved denim for a look that is simultaneously casual and refined. The two-tone, full-grain leather design is durable and versatile; and a rubber midsole provides extra comfort + lift.
Finally, gore-stretch straps make for the easiest on/off ever; and we kind of think that means your summer will be just as breezy.
OTBT
When you’re wearing OTBT, a shoe is a passport. And even more so when it’s the Metaphor Heel in cool stone leather.
Don’t let wide-legged culottes swallow your silhouette; add some height and stability with a sturdy stacked heel.
Perforated leather and chic side cutouts lend interest to your favorite monochrome looks.
Sorel
Ashley wears the warm leather, warm weather Nadia Sandal by Sorel.
Nadia’s hard lines and notched details can read a little rough, so we recommend offsetting the geometric structure with a flowy, printed sundress. Toss a bomber jacket over your shoulder for a charmingly eclectic, transitional look.
Again, Sorel has you covered with a memory EVA footbed and a sturdy rubber sole.
