Baring our Soles on Shoes

Posted by Sheridan Mordue on

We’re baring our soles on the blog this month! And it won’t make us blush to admit that Fly London and Miz Mooz shoes have long had our hearts. In fact, we simply can’t wait to spill the details behind these undying love affairs.

Miz Mooz was born in a New York City basement; it is the brainchild of inspired artisan's who had tired of the impractical footwear options available to heel-wearing professionals women. After glowering at tennis shoes, bandaged blisters and pairs of pumps stuffed in subway tote bags, the simultaneously functional and fabulous Miz Mooz heel came to fruition! Pleased with a shoe that embodied both comfort and class, our H & H buyers couldn’t wait to share the more unique, colorful and unconventional Miz Mooz styles with the Salt Lake Valley. Today we stock a boutique-oriented, eclectic mix of the line that you simply won’t find in your average department store. And heels aren’t their only game—both strappy sandals and flatforms found their ways to our shelves this season.

These gals are stamped with endearing names like “Cassidy” and “Nico,” both pictured above! If you’ve stopped by our SLC location recently, you may have glimpsed our manager Rachel sporting the Cassidy and singing its comfortable praises. And the Nico, with her scalloped toe box and dotty details, makes our t-strap-loving hearts beat just a little faster. Fondly referred to as the “9 to 5” heel among H & H staff, Miz Mooz’ high-quality leather and vintage-inspired designs will long hold a stiletto-shaped place in our hearts.

And now, with that NYC love story out of the way, we insist that you grab a cup of tea and hop across the pond—we’ll tell you the tale of an H & H English romance! First, we’re proud to say that in the Salt Lake Valley, Fly London shoes are unique to our shelves. This foreign footwear line won us over with its commitment to street style, its disregard for fleeting seasonal trends, and quality craftsmanship. To elaborate, it is their cushioned Texon insoles, breathable fabric lining, and supple leather that make for an impeccably designed shoe! We’ve been going steady with these British beauts for years now, and wouldn’t have it any other way. Fly Londons are a staff favorite for travel and long workdays alike.

Pictured above is a small sampling of our latest offerings from the line. The Yula brings subtle metallic and lilac tones together in a comfortable wedge sandal, and the Yema’s unique lace-up design makes for an adjustable peep-toe bootie—which is also available in black and taupe! Sheridan, the fearless leader of our Hip and Humble clan, has been waltzing between our Sandy, Bountiful and Salt Lake locations in her taupe Yema booties for a year now, and can affectionately attest to their stylish durability!

And now, dear footwear confidante, we have just one more secret to divulge: we’ll include a free pair of patterned socks with each shoe purchased during the week of April 13, 2015!  Come on in and share the love! (Offer valid at all three Hip & Humble locations.  While supplies last.  In stock purchases only).
